UTSI SETS INTERMEDIATE LABVIEW
COURSE FOR SCIENTISTS, ENGINEERS MARCH 28-30
A short course designed to help engineers and scientists apply a
“LabVIEW” computer program to research problems is scheduled for March
28-30 at The University of Tennessee Space Institute.
Dr. Brad Winkleman is instructor for “Intermediate
LabVIEW,” which Director Becky Stines says is a continuation of UTSI’s
introductory course, which introduced fundamentals of data flow
programming techniques, front panel creation, and block diagram
construction.
Main topics of the three-day intermediate course include array
manipulation, file operations, graphic and chart operation, dynamic
front panel manipulation via property nodes, and digital signal
processing.
“Dr. Winkleman has extensive experience in applying LabVIEW to
experimental systems,” Stines said. “He has applied LabVIEW’s unique
capabilities to characterizing and controlling a variety of laboratory
devices and experiments. These have included combustion systems, two
phase flows, internal air and water flows, electron beam destruction,
and various other possibilities.”
Fee for the course is $995. Reservations may be made by contacting
Stines at UTSI’s Office of Continuing Education. Her address is MS 15,
The University of Tennessee Space Institute, B.H. Goethert Parkway,
Tullahoma, Tenn., 37388-8897. She may be reached toll-free by dialing
888 822-8874, Ext. 277 or at (931) 393-7276. Her fax number is (931)
393-7327. She suggests early registration.
