A banquet, luncheon, free short courses, student design
competitions, and an "engineer-for-a-day" program will highlight
National Engineers Week activities Feb. 16-20.
The regional engineering and science societies will host a
recognition banquet at 6 p.m. on February 19, at the University of
Tennessee Space Institute's dining room. Dr. Frank Akers, former
associate director of the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, will
present a talk on "National Security." Cost of attending is $30.

An AIAA-sponsored luncheon at the Arnold Lakeside Club from 11:30
a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on February 18 will feature Tom Ramsay of Honda
of America "Race Car Dynamics" as speaker. Further information on

AEDC and local businesses will host "Engineer for a Day" and the Student Design Competition will be at the Hands-On-Science Center in Tullahoma.
