The Aviation Systems Department's facilities are maintained at two locations. At the main campus just outside Tullahoma, Tennessee, are the classrooms and faculty offices that support the academic side of the department. Here, too, are the research library, the computer facilities, the jet engine test station, and the various wind tunnels that are available to support Flight Research. The second location, at the Tullahoma municipal airport, is the center of the Flight Research activity
This is the primary flight simulation research and teaching environment for the department.
This is the primary facility for developing and integrating instrumentation onto UTSI aircraft for flight test and airborne science. This laboratory houses a secondary capability in flight simulation and mission monitoring.
This hangar is the primary location for aircraft storage, maintenance, and flight operations. The facility includes a laboratory for systems integration on the aircraft and a simulation facility for transport-type aircraft research and education.

The station contains a J-85 jet engine used for research and education. Research projects include validation of the new sensor systems for the engine, new control systems for the engine, and research projects utilizing the jet exhaust.
