We've listed 9 easy steps to enrolling in the Engineering Management Program. New students start at step 1.  Existing students start at step 5.

  • Check Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s Degree from an ABET accredited engineering undergraduate program, or a bachelor’s degree in another technical curriculum which will satisfy the admission requirements.
    • Overall GPA of at least 2.7 of a possible 4.0 or 3.0 of 4.0 during the senior year of undergraduate program. In the case of undergraduate GPA problems students can be admitted on probation.
    • Recommended minimum two years of industrial experience as a practicing engineer or scientist, or current full time employment in an engineering or applied science position.
    • GRE Scores
    • Two page double spaced essay (contact office for topic).
    • Three letters of recommendation.

  • APPLY ONLINE to the University of Tennessee. The $60 non-refundable application fee must be paid online using a credit card, debit card, or eCheck at the time the application is submitted.

  • After you have applied submit one official transcript from all colleges and universities attended to:

  • Students who have not registered for graduate courses for one consecutive term (excluding summer) must apply for readmission. Readmission application ($30 application fee required) should be submitted to the Office of Graduate Admissions, 201 Student Services Building, Knoxville, TN 37996-0230 at least two weeks prior to the desired entry date.
  • Seek Advising and Counseling
