Welcome to the
University of Tennessee Space Institute! We are proud to be part of the
University of Tennessee System and to carry the UT colors in south central
Tennessee. In addition, we are very proud of our heritage in aerospace
education and research. Since our founding in 1964, we have graduated
nearly 2000
students with MS and PhD degrees in a variety of technical fields. We have also
had thousands of participants in our many short courses that are offered
throughout the year. Our current work revolves around active programs in
aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, aviation systems, engineering
management, and a variety of other activities. In addition, we are giving extra
attention now, and in the future, to research in materials and propulsion. We
are selectively recruiting both tenure track and research track faculty and are
continuously looking for new graduate students to join our ranks.
