Donation To UTSI From The Tennessee Valley Woodworkers

The Tennessee Valley Woodworkers (TVW) donated a podium, designed and constructed by members of the TVW, to the University of Tennessee Space Institute at their July meeting. The podium will be placed in the Institute’s auditorium. TVW members contributing to the project are; Loyd Ackerman (design, wood prep and columns), Stanley Dunn (donated wood), Richard Gulley (donated wood, columns, wiring and accessories), Henry Davis (wood prep), Ray Cole (columns), and Bob Addington (CNC and construction/finishing, wiring and accessories). The new UTSI logo, the inlay to the podium, was designed by UTSI student Dimitrios Kavelakis.

“The podium is a welcomed addition to the auditorium,” commented Moore, UTSI Executive Director.

The TVW was formed in November of 1985 with the mission to promote woodworking skills within their group and the community and to provide a means for fellowship with other people having a similar interest. The club meets at 7 pm on the third Tuesday of every month at UTSI. For more information about TVW, please visit:
