The Safety & Health Officer has the responsibility of ensuring
the safety and health of UTSI students and employees, and to monitor compliance
with local, state, and federal environmental regulations. The SH&E Officer
maintains the UTSI Safety Manual, conducts periodic safety inspections of the
UTSI campus, performs certain state required record keeping and reporting
functions, and arranges for safety training for students and employees. The SH&E
Officer makes periodic reports to the state in regard to wastewater discharge
permits, oversees solid waste disposal and acts as a liaison with local, state
and federal agencies in issues related to the environment. The S&H Officer can
