Professor Emeritus of Mathematics

My primary research interests are in computational fluid dynamics and applied mathematics. I have been interested in the development of new algorithms for the solution of Navier-Stokes equations and their application to complex 3-D flow problems. A class of algorithms called locally implicit algorithms has been developed and incorporated into general purpose flow solvers. Further developments and new novel applications are being considered. In addition, a locally Lagrangian type of difference scheme based on space-time finite volume method is also being investigated. Locally Lagrangian schemes have the potential for high accuracy and efficiency for unsteady and steady flow problems.
