Moeller Recognized at AIAA Tennessee Awards Luncheon

The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Tennessee Section held their awards luncheon at the Arnold Lakeside Club on May 28. This event is to honor individuals whose research and service achievements go above and beyond in furthering science and engineering or in providing educational outreach. Trevor Moeller, MABE Department Coordinator, received the AIAA Special Award for being an exceptional mentor and advisor challenging students and young engineers to strive for technical excellence in their academic pursuit and professional development. Moeller was nominated by a group of his graduate research assistants.

“I feel that the most important part of my job is providing my students the academic experience and professional growth required to be successful in their careers,” said Moeller. “I care deeply about all of my students and do what I can to make their graduate school experience rewarding and fun too.”

Robert Moore, Executive Director, commended Professor Moeller as a well deserving recipient. “Moeller’s commitment to his students is unflagging and genuinely exceptional.”
