MISSOURI UNIVERSITY INDUCTING UTSI’S SEDRICK
INTO ACADEMY OF ENGINEERING MANAGEMENT
Dr. Gregory A. Sedrick, professor of
industrial and information engineering at The University of
Tennessee Space Institute, is being honored by the University of
Missouri at Rolla.
On Oct. 19, Sedrick and three other graduates of the University
will be inducted into its Academy of Engineering Management.
These new inductees raise to 29 the members of the Academy out
of approximately 50,000 living alumni.
“This is outstanding, and exceptionally well deserved,
recognition of Dr. Sedrick,” said Dr. Donald C. Daniel, UT
associate vice president and chief operating officer of UTSI.
“We brought Greg to UTSI recently to lead our program in
Engineering Management, and this high honor highlights the
caliber of faculty that we are recruiting.”
A professional engineer, Sedrick earned his undergraduate and
doctoral degrees from the University of Missouri at Rolla. He
holds a master’s degree in Systems Management from the Florida
Institute of Technology, and is an electronics/electrical
graduate from the O’Fallon Technology Center in St. Louis. He
became a Fellow of the American Society for Engineering
Management in 1994 and was selected as the 2001 Engineer of the
Year Southeast Tennessee.
Sedrick is UTSI’s Engineering Management Program Chair. He
joined the Institute in January.
The professor moved to Tennessee in 1991 from the Virginia
Polytechnic and State University where he was a research
associate with the Virginia Productivity Center. He has served
as founding Dean and Professor of Engineering and Engineering
Technology at LeTourneau University. He previously was vice
president and professor of Chattanooga State Technical Community
College and was Chief Academic Officer there.
