of Estill Springs, past president, also will make brief presentations.
A “fun golf outing” is planned to start at 1 p.m. at the club. Cost of
the evening meal is $11, and the golf outing, including cost of a cart,

“Brenda Lee has a career marked by virtually every award achievable in
Country, Rockabilly, and Rock and Roll music, having been named to the
Hall of fame in each category,” Knowis said. “From very humble
beginnings, she has achieved accolades and recognition from around the
world and is truly an international star.”
In 1959, at the age of 15, Lee embarked on her first foreign tour that
netted her much publicity and the title of the best “Goodwill Ambassador
the United States has ever had,” Knowis said.
To date, according to her publicist, she has performed in 52 countries
and recorded hits in five different foreign languages: Spanish, French,
Italian, German and Japanese. Her worldwide record sales are in excess
of 100 million. Her biggest selling single, “I’m Sorry,” has sold in
excess of 20 million units and “Rocking Around the Christmas Tree,”
number four best selling Christmas recording, is close behind with sales
approaching 15 million.
“This will be a wonderful opportunity to hear Brenda’s success story,
learn about activities and plans for the future of UTSI, and enjoy the
camaraderie of golf at the beautiful Fayetteville Country Club,” Farrar
said.
