It is my pleasure to welcome you to the UTSI Research & Development Office pages of our new website. As you will see as you browse the material herein, the research ongoing at UTSI is world-class and pushing the state of the art across a broad range of disciplines. Our renowned research faculty and technical staff are pursuing exciting research in the areas of laser applications, applied fluid dynamics, biomedical physics, advanced carbon based materials, computational fluid dynamics, propulsion technology, and flight systems. During fiscal year 2007, our research team secured over $4M in external research funding. Sponsors of our work include the Department of Defense, NASA, the National Science Foundation, and a number of corporate sponsors. Another key element of our program is the active involvement of our outstanding Masters and Ph.D. graduate students, who contribute significantly to forwarding the progress of our research activities while they acquire the credentials they require to rise to positions of leadership in the space research sector.
We are extremely proud of the accomplishments of our research faculty, technical staff, and graduate students. I am also very proud to be working with three stellar administrative professionals, who conduct the bulk of the functions in this office. Without their dedication to excellence and commitment to quality, none of the good work we do would be possible. I hope you enjoy your visit to our web site.
