Eigenvalues and eigenvectors: characteristic polynomials, modal matrices, singular value decomposition. The Cayley-Hamilton theorem: matrix polynomials, functions of matrices, solutions to systems of differential and difference equations. Optimization: least- squares and weighted least-squares methods.
