Featuring Special Guest Speaker Janet Ivey-Duensing

Janet Ivey-Duensing is a science communicator, educator, and space-advocacy leader whose work bridges public scholarship, media, and experiential learning. She served as President of Explore Mars (2019–2023) and later as its Educational Director, helping expand programs that connect students and the public to contemporary space science and exploration.
As Founder and CEO of Janet’s Planet, Inc., she has spent more than three decades developing research-informed, narrative-driven STEM/STEAM programming across broadcast, digital, and live theatrical platforms. Janet’s leadership includes service with the National Space Society (Board of Governors) and advisory roles such as Above Space’s Advisory Board. Janet is also a NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassador.
Ivey-Duensing’ recognitions include the 2022 American Astronautical Society’s Sally K Ride Excellence in Education Award, the 2024 Women’s Space Awards Education and Outreach Recipient, 12 Regional Emmy Awards, and 5 Gracie Awards. Janet’s influence extends across the global space community and the global space education community. Ivey-Duensing is also the author of the “Unsung Genius” book series, highlighting unsung women in science, reinforcing her dedication to promoting science literacy and female mentorship globally.
