Mason Pohlman
Graduate Research Assistant
Mason Pohlman was born and raised in Jacksonville, Illinois. He graduated from Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee with a B.S. in Engineering Physics and Honors. His Honors Thesis at Belmont centered on the debate between science and religion. He enjoys hiking, fishing, painting, and everything sports. Mason joined the HORIZON group as a graduate research assistant in 2020 and is looking to complete a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. He will begin his research in the Fall 2020 under Schmisseur.
Theron Price, PhD
Graduate Research Assistant
Theron Price graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in May 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering. He further obtained a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering with a thesis comprising experimental research into acoustic propagation through nozzles of dissimilar convergent contours and how this pertained to the topic of combustion instability for conventional propulsion. Presently, Theron is continuing his studies as a Graduate Research Assistant at UTSI, with the intent of achieving a Doctor of Philosophy in Aerospace Engineering. His research interests primarily fall under the broad domain of combustion instability, and tend toward the study of the acoustics involved. Additional subjects of interest involve acoustics in general, celestial mechanics and space flight, and the analysis of nonlinear systems. Theron intends to continue experimental research into aeroacoustics as it relates to propulsion as a student under Phil Kreth.
