Jackie Johnson receives Teaching Fellow Award
Jackie Johnson was one of only five awarded the Teaching Fellows Award from the UT Tickle College of Engineering on April 11, 2019. This award is presented to faculty members who possess an exceptional record of graduate and undergraduate teaching, a strong performance in teaching-related service activities, whose efforts clearly contribute to the overall mission of the college, and to recognize superior teaching. Johnson is located at the UT Space Institute in Tullahoma, TN specializing in Biomedical Engineering and Engineering Sciences, (BEAMS). She was nominated by Matthew Mench, the MABE Department head at UT Knoxville. He said in the nominee letter that she is an extraordinary researcher and educator that always performs and succeeds at a high level. She has had a huge positive impact on the graduate program at UTSI, recognizing the need for a larger student body so initiated an intern and recruiting program herself. Johnson is an enormous asset to UTSI and the UT BME program. Congratulations Johnson!
