Post-Doctoral Gaoqiang Yang received the 2019 Professional Promise Award
Gaoqiang Yang joined in Feng-yuan Zhang’s group in the MABE Department in 2016 and is now a Research Scientist at the University of Tennessee Space Institute (UTSI). In the past three years he has mainly focused on applying 3D printing technologies to energy conversion devices, especially on electrolyzer cells for hydrogen production. He has authored/co-authored more than twenty publications in top journals in the field of energy. Yang has given four presentations in academic meetings, and delivered several quarterly and final reports for a government sponsor. The Extraordinary Professional Promise Award at the 2019 Chancellor’s Honors Banquet is the largest annual recognition event of the year at UT Knoxville. These awards are given to undergraduate students for professional promise and to graduate students for professional promise in research, teaching, or other contributions.
