Spring Undergrad Tour 2026

UTSI Hosts More Than 50 Engineering Students for Campus Research Tour

In February, the University of Tennessee Space Institute (UTSI) welcomed more than 50 undergraduate students from the University of Tennessee’s Tickle College of Engineering, Bryan College, Tennessee Technological University, and Lipscomb University.

During the visit, students toured several of UTSI’s leading research facilities, including the Tennessee Aerothermodynamics Laboratory (TALon); the Center for Laser Applications, home to the Computational & Experimental Aerospace Research Laboratory (CEAR) and Biomedical Engineering and Materials Science (BEAMS); and the Laboratory of Advanced Ceramics Study (LACES).

The group also attended a research overview from one of UTSI’s newest faculty members, Dr. Esteban Cisneros‑Garibay, who shared insights into his computational research on reacting turbines.
