UTSI Celebrates Black History Month with Presentation by Dorothy W. Huston

The University of Tennessee Space Institute will present a program to celebrate Black History Month Wednesday, February 28, at 2 p.m. in the UTSI Auditorium. Featured speaker, Dorothy W. Huston, will address the theme “Today Molds Tomorrow…Our Time, Our Renaissance.” A reception to honor Huston will immediately follow the program.

Huston is President and CEO of Technology Management Training Group, Inc., a minority, woman-owned small business based in Huntsville, Alabama. TMT is a provider of information technology, management and training solutions. Huston has amassed more than 20 years of experience in organizational change and leadership; program planning and execution; training and development; student development and educational program outreach; and enhancing and managing diversity.

She established the Alabama A&M University Research Institute in 1999 to respond to a diverse business and industry clientele, information technology, engineering and training contracts projected at 6.5 million for FY 2005.

She has designed state and federal agendas conducive to institutions of higher education and effected marked innovations in all units of institutional advancement. She has enviable experience in student development, diversity management and educational policy and leadership.
