UTSI Schedules Three Microsoft Courses

Three Microsoft classes are scheduled in November at The University of Tennessee Space Institute.

VISIO 2003 Level 1 is set for Nov. 6, Microsoft Project Level 1, Nov. 10, and Microsoft Access Level 1, Nov. 15 and 17.

“All classes will be held in our Computer Learning Center, B-113,” said Becky Stines, director of Continuing Education at UTSI. “All classes will begin promptly at 8 a.m. and finish by about 3:45 p.m.”

A fee of $99 is charged for each of the one-day courses and a $198 fee will be charged for the two-day course.

Persons interested in enrolling may contact Director Stines at 888/822-8874, Ext. 276, (931) 393-7276, orbstines@utsi.edu. Written correspondence may be sent to her at the UT Space Institute, 411 B.H. Goethert Parkway, Tullahoma, Tenn., 37388-8897.

The Visio course was designed “for the student who has little or no experience using Visio 2003 Professional, and who needs to learn basic skills necessary to begin to effectively use the program,” Stines said.

Students enrolled in the two-day Access 2003 Level 1 course will be “introduced to the concept of the relational database and the relational database application and information tools,” the director said. Participants also will learn how to design and create a new Access database.”

The Nov. 10 class, MS Project Level 1, is designed for those with an understanding of project management concepts, Stines said, as well as “those responsible for creating and modifying project plans and in need of a tool to manage these plans.”

Topics in the course cover critical skills necessary to “create and modify a project plan file that contains tasks, resources, and resource assignments,” the director noted.
