UTSI Student Awarded at Eye Ball
UTSI STUDENT AWARDED AT “EYE BALL”—Bo Tan, a graduate student at the University of Tennessee Space Institute was presented with the Gene Angle Sight Scholarship at the Wang Foundation’s Eye Ball held in Nashville on Oct. 6, 2007. The Gene Angle Sight Scholarship is awarded in memory of Wang Foundation’s founding treasurer Mr. Gene Angle, for his important contribution to the foundation. The Wang Foundation chose Bo Tan as the student who “best exhibited the essence and spirit of Gene’s vision for the sight restoration foundation, through his important research work in computer eye modeling and the predictive medicine applications in genetic eye disease keratoconus.” Bo Tan is shown above receiving the award at the Eye Ball from Mrs. Shirley Zeitlin, a Wang Foundation board member.
