Professor Sedrick to Address ASEM Session

Greg Sedrick will speak at a meeting of the American Society for Engineering Management (ASEM) in Knoxville March 9.

A professor of Industrial and Information Engineering at The University of Tennessee Space Institute, Sedrick also is executive director of The New Economy Institute (NEI) that manages the Workforce Aging Management Program Initiative in seven districts of the Tennessee Valley Technology Corridor.

The program, preceded by a social hour at 6 p.m. and dinner at 7, will be held at Rothchilds, 8807 Cedar Bluff Road on Kingston Pike.

Sedrick’s focus will be on “The Economic Development and Opportunity in the Tennessee Valley Through Innovation and Emerging Technology.” He will address Congressman Zach Wamp’s efforts to provide free training to engineers, scientists, technicians and mathematicians for career development. He also will talk about the state’s upcoming economic development effort labeled “the Innovation Tennessee Roadmap.”

Positions held by Sedrick in the past include serving as the State Executive Director of the Tennessee Small Business Development Center Network. He joined the Space Institute’s full-time faculty early this year and is in the process of locating NEI at UTSI.
