Studying at UTSI

UTSI is a vibrant research, education, and innovation center of excellence, headquartered on the University of Tennessee’s Tullahoma campus, adjacent to the epicenter of US aerospace ground testing at the Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC). Excellence in research is the foundation of UTSI’s reputation.

In our first 50 years, we have become a leading provider of graduate engineering and physics degrees to professional engineers and scientists. Moving toward the future, our vision is to expand workforce development efforts in partnership with K-12, community and 4-year colleges in middle and east Tennessee, and increase training offerings to working professionals in or seeking to enter aerospace and defense industries.

UTSI is a leading provider of online graduate engineering degrees to professional engineers and scientists, many of whom have full-time jobs demanding non-traditional modes of course delivery. Since the program’s inception in 1983, over 700 graduate degrees have been earned through distance education.

Continuing Education


The University of Tennessee Space Institute recognizes continuing education as an important and basic responsibility and considers it to be an integral part of the academic programs at the Institute. The Continuing Education programs offered are designed to be responsive to the needs of engineers and scientists, and the skilled craftsman in industry and government.
