HR0128 – FAQ’S

UTSI Staff Training and Development Program

To Regular Faculty and Staff:

As identified in the HR Workplace Satisfaction Survey results, a UTSI Human Resources Staff Training and Development Program has been established effective immediately.

All regular employees are eligible to participate in this program (temporary and student employees are not eligible).  Those eligible will be provided funding for up to two (2) courses per fiscal year and up to a maximum of $200.  This applies to courses offered at UTSI such as those offered through the Continuing Education Department.  Exceptions to the guidelines will be considered.  Justification for the exception is required at the time of the request. This program will not be used to pay for courses in conjunction with the University’s fee waiver program.

When the application is completed and signed by both the employee and the department head/supervisor, it should be submitted to HR for review and final approval.  The application will be returned to the employee and if approved, it should be presented at the time of registration. Cost of the course will be billed to the UTSI HR Staff Training and Development Program. Printed copies are available in the Human Resources office.

If you have questions or concerns, please contact pjelks@utsi.edu or call ext. 37267.

Non-exempt, regular, full- or part-time may participate. CDF will only fund participation in conferences that take place in Tennessee.
