UTSI Student Receives Outstanding Student Presentation Award

Javad Seif, graduate research assistant in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, presented a paper on “Max Availability with Exact Algorithm” and earned the Outstanding Student Presentation Award at the RAM IX Training Summit (9th Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability) held by the Society of Reliability Engineers, Huntsville Chapter, November 2-3 at The University of Alabama in Huntsville.

The annual RAM Training Summit allows reliability and maintainability professionals across industry and government to collaborate ideas by combining presentations, tutorials, and networking with the elite among the RAM community.

Javad Seif, of Iran, earned his Master’s degree in industrial engineering from the University of Tehran, and is currently pursuing a PhD in industrial and systems engineering at UTSI under the supervision of Associate Professor Andrew Yu. His research focuses on operations research, maintenance management, reliability analysis and information systems. Javad would like to become a university professor when he graduates.
