HORIZON is always looking for talented and capable M.S. and Ph.D. students. Since UTSI is a research institute within the University of Tennessee-Knoxville (UT), students at UTSI are students at UT and degrees are awarded through UT. Student researchers are supported on graduate research assistantships (GRAs) enabled by funds from sponsored research projects. GRAs include:

• A stipend (>$20k/year) paid monthly (with annual raises based on merit)
• A tuition waiver for coursework
• Student health coverage

Students will have the opportunity to contribute to aerospace science by writing journal papers, presenting at conferences, and working on sponsored research. Travel to various conferences will be covered if research work is presented.

Generally, a significant portion of our sponsored work is ITAR controlled and students are encouraged to check that they satisfy the requirements to work on ITAR projects (e.g. U.S. Citizenship).

HORIZON also hires postdoctoral researchers as funding is available. Currently, one such position is open.
